Figure Drawing
I used to do figure drawing and draw character facial features a lot as it was a quick method to practice my drawing skills and easily present my mood of stage I was in.
Staring
I remember I drew this when I first arrived at Toronto during high school when leaving my new home stay. I wrote: "I was a bit bored and annoyed." in the notes that documented with this image. It wasn't some pleasant experience and so I decided to move out the very next day. I threw this sketch away but then I went back early next morning to pick it back from the trash. Luckily I found it and reserved that mood. It was some special memory I would like to preserve. To remember that early morning, that first impression of a new place, that rejection and disappointment. That anger, excitment, and joy of change of travel and moving around. It was a complex mood and I think I captured it here pretty precisely.

Poker Face
I can't remember when did I drew this. I wonder if It was a concept design sketch for my high school art work painting. I used to like to draw the frontal features of a character as it was easy and quick to complete. I like her calm looks and the proportion of her face. It was a common subject that I used to draw quite often.

Sharon
Drawn Date: 10th Nov, 2005
Sharon was a my high school schoolmate during my time in college in Canada. She is from Gong Dong China and she was very kind and friendly to me. I thought she got beautiful features so I gave her a quick sketch during our art class. I asked her to be my muse and took her smiley face to represent joy in one of my art projects.

Sadness
Drawn Date: 10th Nov, 2005
Back then in high school there were a lot of black students. Seye is one of those hard working smart kids and I used his serious looks to represent sadness. He was always worry looking if even he wasn't worry at all.
To My Dear
Drawn on 21st April, 2007
I saw a series of beautiful statues of entangled couples in a ceramic shop. I was enchanted by the intimate posture and this was one of my favourite posts that I drawn from memory. The gentle embracment and harmonious looks display a loving and caring moment that is something that I craved for, and marked an important impression in my mind. I wish I would live a life like this and produce more this type of art in the coming days.
