Pastel Drawings
The following drawings are a bunch of colourful fantasies that I have been treasuring since their completion, they are part of my lonely childhood memories that I spent for my past time. I remember those times when I was home alone with the house maid and tried to be creative with my free time.
There were a bunch of A3 cartridge paper, colour pencils, crayons and pastel colours to spare, so I just tried to make good use of them without wasting them. Everytime I did something beautiful, I would be very proud to show off to my parents so they can have something to admire and to chat about.
I think that was the only times that I really enjoy the process of creating and expressing myself, some of my inspirations come from fairy tales or stories that I make up or dreams or movies that I favoured. As most of my childhood I have to deal with loneliness, the only shelter I can escape to is to go into my wonderland.
Pregnant Woman

A lady in her dreams saw two green little fairies visiting her. They are descending from the heavens to give her child their blessings or to be incarnated as her children.
At the Country Side（在鄉下）

Tried to draw a nostalgious drawing of a girl sitting on a hill, watching over the small huts and farmers farming next to a river and under a waterfall.
The Weather（暗晴畫）

Sunny days and rainy days, they are like lovers who are very different but need each other's accompany. Originally I was attempting to expess a love god visiting a peasant on Earth just like Zeus. Somehow I drew the eye shadow of the characters a bit too heavy and now they look like vampires.
Shooting Star

The lady in this is mother Earth herself, looking into space and made a wish. Her body is the mountain and inside her dress is the crowded city and setting sun.

This image was taken inspiration from a children newspaper magazine. I have probably seen something similar and use my own technique to reinterpret it.
Loving Mouse（愛心鼠）

This is a stuff toy that I used to called it Loving Mouse. It will make cute noises, express love and be caring to it's friends, but sometimes it turned evil when it dropped into the sewage.
Fruit Basket（生果籃）

This is the fruit basket in our house. I didn't know what to draw so I think it should be interesting to turn some mundane items into a colourful image.
The Little Cat（小貓兒）

This is one of my most favourite and memorable drawings as it is very colourful and impressive.
I really enjoyed colouring the background patterns and I felt an instant joy just by watching the range of colours being used here.
It felt like a festival is going on and reminds me of Mexican colours.

The Silver Belt（星天）

Another subject that I am very interested in is the universe and space. I used to think that space exploring is really fancy and cool and I was deeply influenced by those sience documentary images. They are very grand, spacious and let one lose into the limitless changes.
Love Forever

This one was supposed to be a Valuntine's poster or card with two cartoonish penguin holding their gifts for their lovers behind their back.
It was coloured in colour pencil and inked with black pen to highlight the characters, then splashed with water to create a watercolour effect.
Fruits

This picture was the only one all drawn in crayon and it gives a very gentle and comforting feeling.
Starry Space（星空）

It seems like a powerful goddess or witch flying into the starry sky and ruling the universe.
Ten Heads（十人頭）

How many heads can you find here?
There are ten heads in this picture overlapping each other. It seems to tell a story of interlocking relationships and society.
Sounds like a detective story...muhh...
Persuer（追求者）

This one was drawn in pastel and add colour pencil to hightlight the features of the character.
There are many persuers surrounding this woman and she was so annoyed by those noises and people.
Each of those suiter have their own set of mind telling her different things. Some of their minds are full of materialistic things, some are about freedom of mind, some are full of romance, some are full of rainbow and joy, some are a mess, some are full of questions and worries, some are full of logical thinking while some are just a bunch of clouts with no idea what to think about.

I rarely use pastel watercolour cause I wasn't very good at contralling the brush and the driness of paint.
This drawing was inspired by the popula manga EVA and I was a huge fan of it back then. I wanted to create a similar story line based on it. I imagined a secret agent company called INDEX and this is the heroine of my story. I even got a Chinese name for her! (Cool! I didn't remember I did something that crazy.) Eventually I felt it was too challenging to write a plot as complicated as EVA so I gave up and this is what left behind.
